Employees 8,000 Hawajawasilishiwa NSSF contributions

Approximately 8,000 employees who are members of the National Organization of Social Security Fund (NSSF) have submitted contributions from their employers Shs 21.4 billion.

Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday, the Acting Director of Facilitation of NSSF, James Aigo said it is a criminal offense according to the NSSF Act by misrepresenting employer contributions to its employee.

Aigo said according to the law all employers are required to present the contributions of their employees within 30 days from the date of the end of the relevant month.
 "But there are some employers because they know themselves, they failed to implement this requirement of the law for failure to submit the contributions of employees at the time," he stressed Aigo.

He said for this financial year ending July first of this year, approximately 8,000 employees who are members of the organization have not been submitted to the contributions from their employers.

He said among the 3234 employees come from Dar es Salaam, which is equivalent to 60 percent of all workers who have submitted contributions by their employers Shs 21.4 billion.
